SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Point Loma Playhouse welcomes submissions of scripts and librettos for Curtain Up! Originals. While we will read and carefully evaluate all submissions, please note the following:

• If selected, Point Loma Playhouse will proudly produce the chosen work and cover all production expenses. While we are unable to offer monetary compensation or royalties, this program provides playwrights and creators the unique opportunity to see their full-length play or musical come to life on stage, fully realized with a professional creative team and shared with our San Diego community.
• If your work is selected, Point Loma Playhouse will select the director, cast, and creative team. However, writers are warmly welcomed to attend auditions, rehearsals, and the creative process in a consultative capacity.
• Submission does not guarantee production.
• We may independently develop or produce works with similar themes, stories, or characters. Any resemblance is coincidental, and by submitting, you agree no claim of infringement shall be made.
• Submissions are non-returnable and will not be treated as confidential.
• Due to volume, we may not respond or provide individual feedback on submissions.
• Only the selected work will be contacted by March 10, 2026.

Rights Notice
All submitted works remain the sole property of their authors. Point Loma Playhouse does not claim ownership of your script or libretto. By submitting, you grant us the non-exclusive right to produce and develop the selected work for our stage. Any original material, staging, or creative elements generated by Point Loma Playhouse during the production (such as direction, choreography, design, or new scenes/music created by us) remain the property of the Playhouse, unless the author themselves has created and provided those additions.

Must be 90-120 pages, original, and never been produced.
