The beautiful historic Point Loma Assembly, opened in 1915, is our home base - a gathering place where history and community come together to celebrate the performing arts. With its timeless architecture and unique character, this landmark venue serves as the creative heart of Point Loma Playhouse, where the magic of live theatre meets over a century of local tradition.
Location Information
The Point Loma Assembly is located in the heart of Point Loma, just minutes from both the I-5 and I-8 freeways. Head southwest on Rosecrans and turn right on Talbot Street - you’ll find us directly across from Cabrillo Elementary School.
There are restaurants nearby, though not within walking distance, so we recommend planning ahead if you’d like to dine before or after the show. Free street parking is available, but space is limited and located on an incline. For guests with mobility concerns, please note that while audience seating is fully ADA accessible and there are a couple of designated handicapped spots directly in front of the venue, parking on the surrounding streets may be challenging.
To make your visit easier, we strongly encourage carpooling, ridesharing (Uber or Lyft), or arranging drop-off right at the entrance.

Our Hillcrest / Bankers Hill Pop-Up is a 9,200 sq. ft. converted warehouse, featuring a full stage, theatre-style seating, and a small lobby entrance. This flexible venue allows Point Loma Playhouse to bring productions to new audiences while keeping the intimate, community feel we’re known for.
Location Information
Our Hillcrest / Bankers Hill Pop-Up Theatre on Fifth Avenue is located just west of Balboa Park. It’s easily accessible from both the I-5 and SR-163 freeways - exit onto Sixth Avenue or Fourth Avenue and make your way toward Fifth. The neighborhood is lively and convenient, with several restaurants nearby - including Jimmy Carter’s Mexican Café right next door.
Street parking is metered along Fifth Avenue and the surrounding streets, and it’s free after 6:00 PM and all day on Sundays. A paid parking lot is also available around the corner on Fourth Avenue. Please note: streets in this area are one-way (Fifth runs north, Fourth and Sixth run south), so allow extra time for navigation and parking.
While the area is mostly flat and the space itself is fully ADA accessible, parking can be limited. We recommend arriving early and encourage ridesharing, carpooling, or using Uber or Lyft for the smoothest experience.
