ALICE IN WONDERLAND YOUTH PRODUCTION

Ages 5-17 Years

Tumble down the rabbit hole and join us for a whimsical journey through Wonderland! This youth production of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR is open to performers ages 5-17.


We welcome all levels - from first-time performers to experienced young actors. We are welcoming of children with special needs.


Space is limited. Once all available spots are full, registration will close.

📆 Important Dates

Parent Information Meeting: Tuesday, December 9th 2025 @ 5:30PM

Audition & First Cast Meet-Up: Thursday, December 11th 2025 @ 5:30PM

Casting Announcement: Late December 2025

Holiday Break (No Rehearsals): December 19th 2025 – January 5th 2026

Family Build & Paint: Sunday, February 8th 2026 @ 12PM

Tech Week (Mandatory): Mon-Thurs, February 9th–12th 2026

Opening Night: Friday, February 13th 2026 @7PM

Closing: Sunday, February 22nd 2026 @ 3PM

Cast Party: Sunday, February 22nd 2026 (after final show)


Families will receive a full rehearsal schedule & packet at the parent meeting.

💙 Tuition & Family Commitment

Tuition is $500 for the run of the program. Scholarships are available. Sibling discounts are available.


In addition to tuition, and to help keep youth theatre as affordable and possible:


✔ Each cast member is encouraged to sell at least 10 tickets 

✔ Each cast member is required to bring 2 flats of bottled water for concessions 

✔ Each cast member is required to bring 1 baked good item for concessions (not per show)

✔ Parent/Guardian Volunteer Requirement:

  • At least 3 volunteer hours (costumes, tickets, concessions, props, sets, admin, etc.)
  • OR choose a $150 opt-out fee to support hiring additional help

✔ Scholarships available - Email info@pointlomaplayhouse.com confidentially

✔ Families able to donate more are invited to sponsor another young performer participate


🎨 Family Build & Paint Day

Sunday, February 8th 2026 @ 12 PM - until whenever you can stay

Help paint sets, organize costumes, and bring Wonderland to life! Bring friends and family!

🍕 Pizza, drinks, and brownies provided. Optional but fun and encouraged!


💵 Where Tuition & Donations Go

Funds directly support:

  • Director, choreographer, assistants, and production staff
  • Scripts, show rights/royalties, costumes, sets, props, tech, lighting & sound
  • Programs, printing, rehearsal materials, theatre space & theatre maintenance


Point Loma Playhouse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Donations are tax-deductible.

All payments are final.

📍 Rehearsal Details

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays between 4:00–8:00 PM (MOST WILL ONLY BE CALLED &  REHEARSE 2 HOURS AT A TIME)
  • Some Saturdays between 9:00 AM–1:00 PM
  • Not all cast members are called to every rehearsal or for the full duration of each rehearsal - it depends on role and scene.
  • A full schedule will be given at the Parent Meeting.
  • No rehearsals during Holiday Break (Dec. 19th 2025 – Jan. 5th 2026)

Cast Party: After the final show on Feb. 22nd (following 3 PM or possible 6 PM performance). Families welcome to celebrate!


🎭 Audition Details

Auditions will be held as a group in the room, but every performer will audition individually in front of the group and creative team.


🎵 Song Requirement - For Most Performers (Ages 5–17):

  • Prepare a song 1 minute or less
  • Can be from a musical, Disney, pop, or any appropriate style
  • If you don’t have a song prepared, you can sing “Happy Birthday” or any song you know
  • You may sing:  
    • A cappella, or
    • With a track (AirDrop, text, or Bluetooth) to our speaker


👑 Lead Role Auditions (Alice, White Rabbit, Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, Queen of Hearts, etc.):

  • Must sing a 1-minute song (as stated above)
  • Should be familiar with the story and characters
  • Will participate in a cold reading from the script (sides provided at the audition)


🌟 For Children Ages 7 & Under Not Auditioning for a Lead:

  • Instead of singing, they may:  
    • Slate name and age
    • Tell 2-3 short jokes or silly lines
  • This keeps the process fun and comfortable for our youngest performers
